"But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see." Deuteronomy 3:28 (NIV)

 

It's amazing the effects our words can have on others! We can build up and tear down with a single word. The Bible teaches us that the power of life and death are in our words...and sense our Lord is the bringer of life; it would make sense that we should bring life, and not death, to others with our words. We have the power to change the course of someone's day by offering words of encouragement! Henry Breecher, a 19th century American preacher and reformer, said, "A helping word to one in trouble is often like a switch on a railroad track an inch between wreck and smooth, rolling prosperity." Speak words of encouragement to someone today and flip the switch for them! There are times we ALL need an encouraging word! Be that encourager to someone else today! Strengthen and bring life by the power of your words to everyone around you; including yourself! Never under estimate the power of your words to build-up or tear-down! Make a choice today, and every day, to be an encourager, bringing life to all those around you!
