Boldness

"The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus." Acts 4:13 (NLT)

When Peter and John were questioned by the Jewish ruling council about the man who was healed in the name of Jesus, their response was so bold the council members were amazed! They knew Peter and John were just ordinary men with no special training, yet they spoke in such a bold manner it was hard to believe! What the members of the council didn't realize was that Peter and John were both full of the Holy Spirit! The power of Heaven was alive inside them! So, even though once they were truly ordinary men, the Spirit of God had made them extraordinary men!

A.B. Simpson, the founder of Christian and Missionary Alliance, said, "One of the special marks of the Holy Ghost in the Apostolic Church was the spirit of boldness." The Spirit of God gives us the boldness we need to live extraordinary lives, just like the first followers of Jesus! Regardless of our background or our education, the Holy Spirit can transform us from ordinary people into extraordinary ones! Giving us the boldness to declare God's word everywhere we go! The Holy Spirit also gives us the boldness to believe God's word for every area of our lives! Let us choose to live boldly today! Let us live in the full power of the Holy Spirit every moment of our day! Let our lives be so BOLD and EXTRAORDINARY that people around us would be amazed!

"A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power." Ephesians 6:10 (NLT)
