"And the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it." Matthew 14:24 (NIV)

After miraculously feeding a multitude of people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus sends His disciples to go ahead of Him to the other side of the lake. As they travel across on the path Jesus had sent them on, they face resistance. The wind rises up and causes the waves to pound against the boat. Jesus wanted to get the disciples to the other side of the lake, and they set out to do exactly what Jesus had told them, but they would not reach their destination without facing resistance.

G. Campbell Morgan once said, "If you have no opposition in the place you serve, you're serving in the wrong place." Whatever path it is that Jesus calls us to walk you can be sure we'll face opposition. The enemy will always rise up to resist us when we follow the plan Jesus has for our lives. Too often Christians believe if God has called them to a certain task or path, than everything will work out smoothly without any hiccups. Nothing could be further from the truth! Indeed, if we do not face opposition and resistance form the enemy we can be sure we have missed the voice of God! If you find yourself in the mist of the storm, because you've followed the Lord's leading in your life, hold tight! The storm will pass and you will be VICTORIOUS! Stay focused on Christ and the call He has placed on your life, the enemy may rage, but he can't stop you! You have the VICTORY in Christ!
