"When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, 'Brothers, what shall we do?'" Acts 2:37 (NIV)

On the Day of Pentecost as the Apostle Peter stands up and declares the Gospel; the Bible says the people who heard it were cut to the heart and wanted to know how they could be saved! The Bible also tells us of another time when a disciple named Stephen stood up and declared the Gospel message, and those who heard it were also cut to the heart, as when Peter shared it. But, this time instead of looking for a way to be saved, the people got angry and stoned Stephen to death. This shows the transforming and convicting power of the Gospel message!

The Gospel message is powerful! And, it always affects the hearer, cutting them to the heart. But, the affect is not always the same. Some hearts are transformed, receiving the saving Grace Jesus has to offer, and others are convicted and harden their hearts, refusing to receive its truth. Still, whether for the good or the bad, the Gospel always cuts people to the heart; the difference is how it is received. Embrace the power of the Gospel message and share it with someone today! Not everyone will receive it with an open heart, but some will. Dare to share the Gospel message with others, and you will bring salvation and deliverance to a lost and dying world!
