Down Fall...

"When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom." Proverbs 11:2

Pride, it is a destructive force that lives inside us all.  Pride is satisfied with itself and its own abilities.  It rejoices in its own strength and cleverness.  Pride at times tries to disguise itself with a shallow form of humility, but it's only for appearances and has no true depth.  Pride acknowledges only itself, for pride always sets itself up as god.  The enemy of our soul, satan, was thrown out of Heaven because of pride!  Pride always precedes shame and destruction!  On the other hand the humble recognize their need for others, and they see the value in shared strength.  The humble are ready to surrender their will to that of the one true God!  The humble will always walk and live in victory because they are established and exalted by God Himself.  And, what God established no man can tear down!  Be humble!  Resist the urge to set yourself up as god of your own life!  God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

"A man's pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor." Proverbs 29:3
