What Kind Of People???

"Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?"  

2 Peter 3:11-12

Peter reminds us that sooner or later Jesus is coming back! And, it'll be a great day for everyone who has surrendered their life to Christ. But, for those who have not, for those who remain their own lord and master, it will be a horrible day! Peter also reminds us that God has no pleasure in seeing the wicked destroyed. No, God want everyone to be saved! So, keeping all this in mind, Peter poses a question to every born again believer, "Knowing this, what kind of people should we be?"...so, what's your answer? What do you think? Should we be caught up in the cares of this world, trying to accomplish and acquire all we can, sitting back taking it easy...or, should we be a people of great concern? Should we be a people who know there is no time to waste? Should we be a people who are concerned for the lost and dying soul of this world? Should we be a people who puts our own desires and wants aside and embraces the heart of God, to see all people saved? Shouldn't we be seen as a people with an urgent mission, indeed a Great Commission, one than cannot wait or be put off? The question of "What kind of people should we be?" is one we all must answer, and it is an answer that will be proclaimed in the way we live our lives.

"Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!"
