An Anointing...

"But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things." 1 John 2:20

In the 80's there was a TV show called "The Greatest American Hero". In the show a man named Ralph Hinckley was given a super suite by aliens to go out and fight injustices on the planet earth. When Ralph would wear the suit he was indestructible and was able to do incredible things! But, without the suit, Ralph was just an ordinary man.

Very much like Ralph, we have been given a suit by a Being who is not from this earth...GOD. The Bible teaches us that we have an anointing from the Holy Ghost. That literally means the Holy Spirit has been smeared all over us, endowing us with power. We can not only be full of the Holy Ghost, but we can wear Him everywhere we go, which is literally wearing the power of God! God has given us the anointing of the Holy Ghost, which is the power of Heaven, to represent Him here on earth! When we operate in the anointing we can do incredible things, but when we try to do things on our own, we find out we are just ordinary people. God has given us the Holy Ghost so that we wouldn't live as ordinary people! He wants us to represent Him with His power on this earth! Understand today, you have been given the anointing, that is the power of the Holy Ghost. Remember though, it is not your power to abuse, but it is to be used for the destruction of the devil's works, as we further the Kingdom of God! Do great things for God today allowing the power of the Holy Ghost to overcome you, working in you and through you!
