Off Track???

"It happened in the spring of the year, at the time kings go out to battle, that Joab led out the armed forces and ravaged the country of the people of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. And Joab defeated Rabbah and overthrew it." 1 Chronicles 20:1

It was at this time the king was supposed to go out to battle with his forces. It was to be David's place to lead his men out, but instead David sends Joab to do his job. David stays home neglecting his duties as king, David was off track. It was at this time that David would sin greatly before the Lord by taking the wife of Uriah and having an affair with her. David tried to cover up his sin, but when he was unsuccessful he added to it by having Uriah killed. All this sin happened because David got off track, and didn't do what God had given him to do. God had made him king, but he shuffled his responsibility off on Joab, and dove head first into sin.

When we step away from what God has given us to do, we are off track. And just like David when we get off track bad things are going to happen. When we are off track it gives satan an opportunity to tempt us, leading us away from God's plan for our life. David would have never got into the trouble he did if he would have just stayed on track. If you find yourself off track today it is time to turn to God and repent. Don't make the same mistake David did when he tried to cover up his sin, it only drew him further off track. Run to God confessing your sin, asking Him to put you back on track! The scripture are clear "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Call on the Lord, and allow Him to cover you with mercy and grace!

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16
