Future Plans...

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

What a popular verse! It is a verse that adorns many t-shirts, bracelets, and bumper stickers. Christians quote it often as they hope for something better. And, indeed God does have a future planned for us! God has new and great things for each of us! Yet, so many of God's children miss out on the future God has for them, while at the same time quoting and clinging to today's verse. Why do they miss it??? Because, while God desires to give them a future full of His blessings and goodness, and they truly want to receive the same, they are unable to take their eyes of the past. If we are going to receive a future from God, we're going to have to look forward! We must take our eyes off the past, failure and success, and look to the future that God has prepared for us! No matter how good or how bad your past was, if you're always looking to it, you can never receive something new! Know today that God truly has something great prepared for you, and desires for you to have it. But, to receive it you're going to have to take your eyes of the past and look up to God and the future He has prepared for you! Live the blessed life, going forward and looking forward, leaving the past behind!

"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead." Philippians 3:13
