Don't Lose Heart...

"I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:8

Jesus tells the story of an unjust judge and a widow woman.  The Judge was harsh and arrogant, with seemingly no concern for others.  The widow woman had been done wrong, and she went to the judge looking for help and justice.  She found no such help or justice from this man; at least not at first!  The widow was very persistent and continued to seek the judge's help.  Finally, fatigued by the widow's persistency, he gave in and granted the widow's request so she would leave him be.  Jesus tells His followers, if the unjust judge would help the widow they could be sure their Father in Heaven would help those who call out to Him with a heart that won't give up.

Through this story Jesus teaches us that we must be persistent in our prayer lives.  It is not a lack of faith to continue to seek God for an answer to a prayer.  Actually, it seems that it would be just the opposite, and the lack of faith would exist in the one who quits seeking God when no answer has been given.  The prayer that truly seeks God will not quit until it gets an answer!  It will cry out the Lord day-and-night until an answer comes!  If you truly seek the Lord in prayer, with a heart that will never quit, you can be sure He will be found!

"And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?" Luke 18:7
