Commitment...

"Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong."  

1 Corinthians 16:13

Being a true follower of Jesus is not always easy, and, in truth, can be very difficult at times.  Paul encourages the believers at Corinth to keep watch, stand fast in the faith, to be brave, and to be strong.  And, if we're going to be true followers of Jesus, and not just flaky half-hearted church goers, we're going to have to take Paul's advice!  Jesus isn't looking for wimpy believers who run at the first sight of trouble!  Jesus is looking for committed followers who are willing to dig in and fight!  Followers who will keep-on keeping-on when nothing makes sense!  Simply believing Jesus is real and that He died on the cross isn't enough.  We are called to walk the same path Jesus did!  We are to be committed followers of Christ going about this world destroying the works of the devil!  Doing battle with the enemy daily in prayer!  We are in a war for the souls of mankind!  We cannot afford to live half-heart religious lives!  We must live as committed followers of Jesus Christ!  Denying ourselves as we pick up our cross daily and follow after Jesus!  We are called to be soldiers in Christ, militant in our pursuit of Christ and the furtherance of His Kingdom!  Don't be a Christian wimp!  Stand fast in the faith!  Be brave!  Be strong!  Keep watch!  Live a committed life to the One who gave Himself for you!  

"You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier." 2 Timothy 2:3-4
