The Believer's Prayer...

"And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness." Acts 4:31

As the Apostles began to preach the Gospel, working many signs and wonders they faced great persecution.  The Apostles recognized they would need the power of a limitless God to complete the seemingly impossible task that had been laid before them.  On one particular occasion after healing a crippled man Peter and John were confronted and threatened by the Jewish leadership who opposed Christ. When they returned to the other disciples and reported what had happened, all the disciples turned to the Lord in prayer.  The Bible tell us that after they prayed the place where they were assembled together began to shake and they spoke God's Word with boldness as the power of Heaven was poured out upon them.

When we pray we unleash the power of Heaven.  This is the only power that can shake the nations.  It is only prayer that will shake the hearts of men.  With the task of taking the Gospel to the World we must be a people of prayer.  It is only through the power of prayer that we will receive the strength to complete the task we have been given.  Fervent prayer should be an enduring force in the life of every Christian.  Fervent prayer is the prayer that seeks God without rest until the power of Heaven is released to shake the world!
