Courage In The Word...

"And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the LORD that was before the vestibule of the LORD." 2 Chronicles 15:8

The prophet of the Lord came out to meet king Asa and gives him the Word of the Lord.  Odeb tells Asa, "be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!"  When Asa heard the Word of God the Bible says, "He took courage".  The Word of God brought strength and encouragement to the king. 

The Word of God is like that, it brings us courage and strength.  The Word of God is, "living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  When we doubt and wonder the Word of God penetrates our heart strengthening our faith.  The Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."  The Word of God brings light to the darkest of times!  Read the Word of God and allow it to build your faith making you strong and courageous, that you may live a godly life in peace and tranquility for the glory of God, regardless of what challenges you face.  

"Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
