Vessel Of Honor...

"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work." 2 Timothy 2:20-21

The truth is we all have different role to play in the Church, and although they may be different they all go together to serve the purpose of God in fulfilling the Great Commission.  We are all meant to be important parts of the Body; vessels of honor.  It is God's desire that all His children be vessels of honor ready for His use.  To be used as a vessel of honor we must flee from iniquity.  That means we must put our sinful ways behind us and leave them there.  We cannot serve God with one hand while we indulge in our past sins with the other.  Both hands are to be put to the plow, with a steady eye on what's in front of us.  We must allow the Holy Spirit to have His way with us, leading us in paths of righteousness for His name sake and away from our old life of sin.  God wants to use us all to the fullest honor for His glory, but we must stay away from the ways of this world and its sinful ways.  Let go of the iniquities of the past; lust, gossiping, greed, jealousy, lying all the things that are embraced by the children of this world.  Cling to the new life you have in Christ and the purity of spirit He has given you.  Allow God to use you as a vessel of honor for His glory!
