Called To Give... 

"Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days." Ecclesiastes 11:1

An allusion to the sowing of rice; which was sown upon muddy ground, or ground covered with water, and trodden in by the feet of cattle: it thus took root, and grew, and was found after many days in a plentiful harvest.

Giving to the furtherance of God's Kingdom, to help the poor and rejected of this world is sowing onto "good ground".  When we sow onto "good ground" God will cause it to return to us in an abundance of increase.  God does this so we can continue to sow into the harvest of the world.  The Bible is clear "give and it shall be given" and again it says, "He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully".  We are called to be givers, and we are called to do it joyfully; because as we give it's as if we are giving to the Lord.  And we give knowing that we are only returning to the Lord what was His in the first place.  Also we do it with the assurance and guaranty that the One who gave us the seed to begin with is going to multiply it back to us!  Be a giver as our Lord is!  Allow the blessings of God to flow through you!  Be a conduit for the blessings of God!
