The Mouth...      __________

"Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few." Ecclesiastes 5:2

I think it safe to say we have all allowed our mouth to gets the best of us, said words without thinking, words we would love nothing more than to take back.  The Bible warns about the power of our words over and over.  It also warns about the iniquity of our tongue, and how it is often out of control.  In Ecclesiastes we are warned again not to be rash when we speak.  We must consider the words we allow to come out of our mouth.  We can never forget that our words have the power of life and death.  In times of anger and unrest let us take time and consider the words we allow to escape our mouth, for once they are gone there is no taking them back.  We are a vessel of God, an ambassador to Christ.  In our words and actions we represent God on this earth.  The things we say can bring the life of Jesus Christ to someone's life, or we can speak from our unregenerated "old nature" and bring death to others, driving them away from Christ.  Let us always consider the words we allow to come out of our mouth before we speak them; "therefore let your words be few."

"In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise." Proverbs 10:19
