"But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?'"  

Acts 7:27

 

At the age of forty Moses would begin to feel the call of God on his life, and he would try to act on it.  In the passage above Moses is called out when he tries to break up a fight between two Hebrews.  The one says, "Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?" and the truth was no one had yet, but God soon would!  Moses was called by God to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt, and Moses felt that calling on his life, he was just a little early.

 

It can be very disappointing and even confusing when we feel the call of God on our life and we act on it, but we act to soon; we try to move into our God given destiny before our God given time.  This is exactly what Moses did!  God had called him to deliver the Israelites, and he would indeed be a made a "ruler and judge" over them by God, but he acted on it to soon.  Perhaps like Moses you have felt God call you to do something and acted upon it to soon resulting in disappointment and confusion.  And, perhaps you even have begun to question if you missed the call of God on your life.  But, maybe it's not the call you've missed, just the timing.  If you feel a call of God on your life and nothing has worked out, despite of all your efforts, maybe the timings just off.  Wait on God!  Allow Him to prepare you for what He's called you to!  Just because things didn't work out the first time you tried don't give up!  Your time is coming, but it's coming in God's timing!
