Cleanse...

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

Isaiah 1:18

Sin is simply doing anything outside of God's will.  When we do, sin leaves a stain on us so dark it seems nothing can take it away.  The stain of sin marks us for death, and separates us from God and all His love and incredible blessings.  But for this stain of sin to remain on us is also contrary to the will of God.  Through Jesus Christ God has made a way for everyone's sin to be wiped away.  "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

All who have called on the name of the Lord have been washed white as snow and are now the righteousness of God.  We have been freed from condemnation and quilt.  Still, we struggle with the idea of being worthy of the blessing of God.  As the quilt of our past failures dart through our thoughts we come to the conclusion we are not worthy of God's incredible grace and mercy, and the truth is we're not!  But praise be to God, we don't have to justify ourselves before God or earn His inconceivable mercy and grace, we only need receive it!  If we allow the enemy to continue to lie to us "telling us how unworthy we are", and bringing up past failures we will shy away from the Lord and miss out on all His inconceivable mercy's.  When the enemy throws your past in your face remind him that Jesus paid your debt and you are now white as snow!  You are free to receive all the blessing of God, not because you earned them but because Jesus has, and through Him they pass to us the same way all our sins both past and future pass to Him!

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:13-14
