Tenacity...

"And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe." Acts 14:19-20

If there was ever one of the apostles who could be described as tenacious it was Paul!  In the passage above we read of time when he was drug outside the city, stoned, and left for dead.  But, to the amazement of the disciples of that city he rose up after the men who had left him for dead had gone.  Most people with any good sense would have left that city...but not Paul!  Paul was tenacious!  He would not be swayed in the mission Jesus had given him.  He got up and went right back to the city and preached the Gospel!

What a great example for all Christians!  The Christian life style is not an easy walk!  There are many challenges on the way!  We must adopt the same tenacious attitude that the Apostle Paul had.  We must have an unmovable determination to stick to God's Word!  When difficulties and struggles arise we must put our shoulder down and push through them!  We must be firm and persistent in our walk with the Lord that we may finish the course He has given us to run!  Refuse to be persuaded to vary even an inch off the course Jesus has set for you!  Be tenacious!  Unmovable!  Always abounding in the work of the Lord no matter what may come your way!

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14
