Sovereignty...

"But He is unique, and who can make Him change? And whatever His soul desires, that He does." Job 23:13

God's will is absolute!  He is sovereign above all, for He has created all.  None can oppose His will; the Words that proceed from His mouth are all powerful and unfailing.  As children of the Most High we recognize the sovereignty of God, yet we can't help but wonder at His way of doing things.  We question and doubt God's will and ways...why do "good people" suffer?  While the wicket seem to prosper more and more?...why does God answer "yes" to one prayer and not to another?...how can someone who doesn't want a child and will abuse that child have many children they do not want, when a couple who desires to have a child and would cherish that child remains barren?  It can truly be said, "Only God knows".  In the end God is sovereign, and He works to accomplish His will.

As we struggle to figure God out we must remember He see things from a vantage point that we could never.  As children of God we must put our trust in Him, because we will never figure Him out, for as the heavens are higher than the earth so are God's ways higher than our ways.  The Bible declares "That all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  We know this to be an absolute truth, but even so there are times when this certainty offers little comfort as we fight through the struggles and challenges of this life.  No matter what life brings our way we most hold tight to the fact that God loves us!  And He will never leave of forsake us!  Even though the trials of this life can be so incredibly difficult we need not go through even one of them alone or by our own strength!  God is always there for us!  Trust and lean on the Lord!

"Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us." Psalms 62:8
