"Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him." Luke 22:39

 

It was a habit of Jesus to go up to the Mount of Olives and pray.  Jesus understood that spending time with the Father in prayer was essential to Him successfully completing His mission, so He made a habit of it.  It was a lesson Jesus wanted His disciples to learn, as He instructed them to also pray, that they would not fall into temptation. 

 

The lesson would be a good one for us to learn today!  If we want to be successful at the mission God has called us to complete on this earth we will have to make prayer a daily habit; spending time alone with our heavenly Father.  Too often Christians only make prayer a priority when everything is falling apart around them.  Prayer must become a habit now, so when the enemy attacks we are well able to withstand him, because we know how to live in the power that prayer produces.  Prayer produces power because in prayer we are in communion with the ALL powerful God of the Universe.  Choose to make prayer a daily priority, don't wait! It will produce in you a life of power and miracles!
