"But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world." Galatians 6:14

 

The cross of Jesus Christ wasn't quit as pretty as many of the crosses that decorate the walls of Christian homes today.  Yet, its value was priceless!  And, in the eyes of eternity that old rugged cross was the most beautiful of all!  It is through the cross of Jesus Christ that we have been reconciled back to God.  Through the cross we are dead to the world and the world is to be dead to us!  For the child of God the cross is so much more than a piece of jewelry to be worn, it is an instrument of death that is to be carried!  The cross has brought us new life in Jesus Christ!  When we come to the cross of Jesus Christ we leave a new creation; free from the power of sin and death!  Let us cherish the cross of Jesus Christ, and never forget the price that was paid on it by our Lord for all of us! Know today that through the cross of Jesus you are FREE!

 

 "Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 16:24-25
