"For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Luke 14:11

 

This lesson of exaltation can be best learned from the life our Savior lived.  He lived to bring glory to the Father.  He came as a servant not seeking fame or fortune, but seeking the souls of mankind.  Jesus put the desires of the Father at the forefront of His life.  Even as He prayed for the cup He was called to drink from to be removed from Him, He still put the Fathers will above His own desires and needs.  And, when Jesus gave it all up the Father gave it all to Him.  Jesus did not exalt himself, but was exalted by the Father. 

 

What a lesson for us to learn!  What a way for us to live!  Not worrying about our self and our own desires, but focusing on the desires and wants of our Lord!  We should live a life that seeks to exalt our Lord, and in doing so we can be assured a day will come when He will exalt us!  A day of glory and honor!  A day when our work on earth will be done!  A day of exaltation!
