"After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses assistant, saying: Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them-the children of Israel." Joshua 1:1-2

Joshua was called by God to lead Israel, so in reality he would have no problem taking the Land God had promised them.  But to the natural eye it had to seem very different!  The risk Joshua was taking by accepting command of a nation and than leading them into a land already occupied by others had to seem reckless and even foolish.  Joshua dared to believe God and stepped out in faith, and when he did the miraculous was accomplished!

As the old saying goes "Nothing ventured nothing gained."  Many of the things God calls us to do can seem incredibly risky, even foolish to the natural eye.  But, the truth is, when God calls us the risk is removed!  Don't be afraid to step out in faith today!  Great achievements have been made by men and women of God who were not afraid to step out and take calculated risk.  To fulfill all that God has for us we must be more than visionaries, we must also be venturesome!  The wife of Archbishop Mowll once said, "The frontiers of the Kingdom of God were never advanced by men and women of caution."  We must always act in wisdom, but we must never allow fear to fold us back!  Step out and dare to believe God for the impossible today!  If you dare to venture nothing, than nothing is surely what you will gain!

"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says."
