"Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah."  

2 Chronicles 32:7-8

As the Assyrian army came against Judah king Hezekiah spoke words of life to the people.  The people were undoubtedly nervous and frightened at the idea of having to face the Assyrian army who had decimated the surrounding nations.  Hezekiah spoke no words of doubt or dismay, but words of power and courage.  Hezekiah built the faith of his people by the words he spoke!  He could have just as easily destroyed their faith if he would have spoken words of fear.  Hezekiah led his people by the powerful words of faith he spoke in looking to the Lord for deliverance.

Our words are very powerful!  The Bible declares life and death are in the power of the tongue!  We have the ability to speak life or death into any situation.  When we speak cynical words that are fear based we are speaking words of death into our life and the lives of those around us.  But when we speak uplifting words of faith based on God's Word we are speaking life into our own being and the lives of all around us.  We choose the words we speak each day.  Choose to speak words of life today into every situation you are faced with.  Choose to speak words of faith and power into the lives of your family and friends.  Today, speak life!
