It was always God's desire to richly bless the people of Israel as He brought them out of the bondage they faced in Egypt. He had prepared a land of great abundance that He desired to give them, but it was more than they could believe. And, in-fact, the reason they did not get what God had prepared for them was that they didn't believe. God said He would satisfy them with honey from the rock. Well, the last time I checked honey doesn't come from a rock, but I think that was the point God was making. God was ready to do the impossible for them, to bless them in ways that they could not possibly conceive. Yet, they refused to trust God, and even worse, they turned their hearts to false gods.
