"They spoke against God, saying, 'Can God spread a table in the desert?'" Psalm 78:19

When Israel was in captivity in Egypt they had the privilege of witnessing God do great signs and wonders!  They saw the might of God as He defeated pharaoh's army when they were camped against the sea.  They saw God bring water from the Rock to quench their thirst.  They witnessed firsthand what God was capable of!  Yet, their hearts remained hard.  They questioned God's ability.  They doubted His goodness.  In their unbelief they asked, "Can God spread a table in the desert?"  They didn't believe He could!  But, He could, and did! Because they refused to trust God they would miss out on so much of His grace!  So much of the goodness God desired to show Israel they would never experience.

How about you today?  Do you believe God can spread a table in the desert?  Do you believe in your darkest times God can come thundering through?  Have you forgotten about all the wonders you have seen God do in the past?  Have you forgotten about all the times you called out to God and He answered you?  Are you in the mist of the desert right now?  Do you find yourself doubting God's goodness?  Are you missing out on His grace?  Believe God!  Believe His Word!  Believe He is good!  Believe He desires to bless you!  Turn your eyes to a loving Father, and believe for Him to spread a table for you in your desert!
