"Then I perceived that God had not sent him at all, but that he pronounced this prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.  For this reason he was hired, that I should be afraid and act that way and sin, so that they might have cause for an evil report, that they might reproach me." Nehemiah 6:12-13

As the construction of Jerusalem continued so did the resistance.  Their enemies tried everything they could to stop construction.  Here the enemy uses fear to try and scare Nehemiah and the people.  The enemy enlists the help of Shemaiah to try and mislead Nehemiah into acting in fear, opposed to faith.  Nehemiah recognizes the ploy to cause him to act in fear and the situation is avoided as Nehemiah stands in faith.

As God move in our lives bringing us from one season to another the enemy will always try to use fear to destroy our faith; for it is by faith that we pass from one season to another.  The enemy will use those we trust, those of our own family, or even our church family to plant seeds of doubt and fear.  These seeds of doubt and fear do nothing but destroy the faith that God has given us, and if we are going to go anywhere that God has ordained for us we are going to have to travel there by faith.  We must recognize the work of the enemy!  God does not use fear and doubt to guide us, He leads us by the His Word and the Holy Spirit.  As the Lord moves you from one season of your life to another be aware of the enemies tactics of using fear and doubt to keep you back, and refuse to listen to any words of fear and doubt no matter who or where they come from! Stand on God's Word and walk in faith!
