"Yet I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay." Psalm 70:5

David is sure to be in a time of extreme distress; perhaps even concerned for his life.  David in his distress cries out to God to come to his rescue and to come quickly!  For David any amount of time, regardless of how short would be too long to wait for deliverance!  I'm sure we can all associate with David.  We've all been in those situations where it felt like the walls were falling down around us; times when we felt helpless to do anything.  It is in these times we desperately call out to God!  And, when we call out to our Heavenly Father we can be assured He will answer!  Perhaps today you find yourself in a seemingly hopeless situation, if so call on your Father in Heaven and WAIT on Him!  Waiting surely isn't something we like to do, especially when everything is falling apart around you.  But, waiting is indeed what we must do.  We must allow our Heavenly Father to work things out in His way and in His time.  Wait on the Lord!  You'll find out even though He may seem to be late in responding to your cry for help at first, He was truly right on time!
