^"A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish." Psalm 49:20

The riches of this world can be used in many ways.  One way can use them is to please our selves.  We can buy all the things "our" heart desires; cars, homes, vacations, various luxury items.  We can surely justify our spending in the fact that we work hard for our money and should be able to use it in any way we want.  But, we are quickly reminded by God's Word that "you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth."  Not only should we remember who gives us the power to gain wealth, but also that when we leave this earth we shall take none of the things we have acquired with us. 

A second way we can use our wealth is to further God's Kingdom.  We can use the wealth that God blesses us with in the pursuit of fulfilling the Great Commission.  We can wisely invest our earthly riches in eternal things, the things that God's heart desires.  There is nothing that God desires more than people; redeemed people!  Let those who are rich in the things of this world be grateful, and humbly use those riches to fulfill the heart desire of God, and not their own desires.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-21
