Thirst For God...

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?"

Psalm 42:1-2

There are many things in this world we can seek after to quench our thirst.  Riches, notoriety, awards of achievement, promotions, but in the end they all leave us needing more.  These things never truly quench our thirst, they only masquerade the symptoms of that thirst.  King Solomon was the wealthiest man to ever live.  He accumulated a thousand women to bring him pleasure.  He built great homes with luxuries untold.  But, in the end none of these things truly satisfied his thirst.  After trying everything Solomon concludes "Meaningless! Meaningless! Everything is meaningless!"  On the other hand Jesus said, "Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."  Make a choice today to seek after the Lord with all that you are, allowing Him to quench your deepest thirst!  Jesus is the Living Water and nothing else will ever quench the deepest thirst of our soul!

"On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying,  If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." John 7:37-38
