"Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor." Psalm 39:5

David in a state of despair, brought on by his sinful rebellion against God, begins to reflect on his life.  God reveals to David that his time on planet earth is short, too short to waste it in sinful pursuits.  We all have a finite amount of time on this planet; we would be wise to spend that time in godly pursuits.  We can choose to spend our time building our own kingdom, accumulating wealth, and seeking promotions and various accolades.  Or, we can take what time the Lord has given us and use it to further His Kingdom!  We can spend our time and resources glorifying Jesus as we work on the fulfillment of the Great Commission!  None of us know how much time we have one this earth, but we know for certain that time is but a vapor.  We will soon all stand face to face with our Lord, let us live in such a way that His words to us on that day will be "Well done good and faithful servant!"

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all.  For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil."
