"For my iniquities have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds are foul and festering Because of my foolishness. I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long." Psalm 38:4-6

What David's sin was at the time he wrote this psalm is unclear, but what is clear is the outcome of that sin.  David's sin had brought destruction and terror to his life.  But, such is the nature of sin; it always brings destruction.  The Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death.  Sin may bring pleasure for a moment, but destruction is soon to follow.  For the child of God who has been delivered from the power of sin, yet turns back to the indulgences of sin, terror and destruction are on the horizon!  If today you find yourself living in the destructiveness of sin, turn around!  Call out to God to deliver you from it, and then take a step of faith and turn from it!  The enemy will use sin to destroy the child of God, and even though we have been delivered from death, the wages of sin, sin can still cause havoc in our lives and the lives of our loved ones!  If you are living in perpetual sin make a choice today to walk away from it!  Call on the name of the Lord, and begin to live a life of righteousness that brings glory to Jesus!
