"Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help."  

Psalm 35:1-2

Just like the psalmist, we have an enemy who plots our ruin.  Our enemy is ready to do everything they can to destroy us and our God given purpose.  And, the more we pursue what God has given us to do in the Great Commission, preaching the gospel and making disciples, the more our enemy will come against us. But, the good news is we also have One who will stand and fight for us!  Our Lord is ready at all times to take up our cause, to stand as a shield between us and the forces of satan!  Not only does our Lord stand up to defend us, He also fights for us!  Our Lord pursues and attacks the enemy for us!  If today you find yourself a favorite target for the forces of satan, fear not!  Rejoice!  You are a threat to the devil!  God is with you!  He will defend you!  He will fight for you!  You are not in this fight alone!!

"Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.  Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt." Psalm 35:3-4
