"I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety." Psalms 4:8

The Peace of the Lord transcends a mere feeling of tranquility or mental calm.  The Peace of the Lord brings freedom.  This is a Peace which cannot be taken away by circumstance or difficulty.  It is a Peace which you cannot explain or put your finger on.  This Peace of the Lord that passes all understanding is none other than the Holy Spirit Himself.  The Peace of God is the person of the Holy Spirit.  When the Holy Spirit fills the life of the believer, worries and anxieties about what tomorrow may bring are gone.  For the Holy Spirit assures our spirit that we are in the loving care of our Heavenly Father.  Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit saying, "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes."  This Peace of God cannot be defined or explained; it can only be experienced and accepted.  This Peace is the person of the Holy Spirit!  And this Peace will radically change your life if you allow Him full access to your life!

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
