"With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles. And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah." 2 Chronicle 32:8

As the Assyrian army entered Judah I can only imagine the fear that gripped the people.  This was a great and powerful army that had brought many nations to their knees.  Hezekiah wisely had turned to the Lord for help, and now it was up to him to encourage the people of his kingdom.  Hezekiah chose the speak words of life to the people!  The words he spoke brought strength and confidence!  Hezekiah could have panicked and foolishly allowed his words to bring destruction, but he chose his words shrewdly and they brought life and victory!

Our words are powerful!  They can bring life or death to any situation!  We have the ability to build up ourselves and others around us by the words we speak.  We must be shrewd with our words as Hezekiah was when we are faced with challenges and seemingly overwhelming odds.  Let us never forget we are not alone!  In everything, at all times God is with us!  Let our words reflect this fact!  Let our words bring life to all!  Let us speak words of victory!
