"And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians." 2 Chronicles 16:12

Asa was a godly king, who experienced the power and provision of God.  Yet, when Asa got older he didn't seek out the Lord in his times of need.  In fact, when God chastened him for not seeking Him out for help, Asa hardened his heart.  When he got sick he turned to the doctors instead of calling on the Lord.  Asa could have experienced God's blessings all of his life, and in every part of his life, if he would have only continued to seek after the Lord.

God is ready and willing to bless His children!  God is more willing to answer than we are to ask sometimes.  No matter how big or how small a circumstance, we should always call on the Lord.  We have a tendency to only call on God for the things we fill are out of our control, when in reality we should be looking to the Lord at all times.  God wants to provide for us and bless us!  He is a Father who delights in giving good things to His children.  We are to look to God in every situation and for every need.  The truth is there is no need we can meet on our own without the grace of God.  We are not self reliant!  Without God's grace we couldn't take our next breath!  It is only by His goodness and mercy we are able to live victorious lives!  Let always look to the Lord, leaning on Him, trusting in Him, relying on Him for everything at all times!
