"Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel." 1 Chronicles 21:1

Faith, without it one cannot please God.  It would be by faith that David would slay the giant Goliath, and it would also be by faith that he would eventually become king of all of Israel.  God had promised to bless David and He did.  But, now satan moves in to seduce David to take a census of Israel.  This angered God, because David was substituting statistics for trust.  David was not on his guard and fell victim to the "seducer", satan.  David would pay a hefty price for allowing satan to seduce him.

The enemy is still walking about seducing the children of God, stealing their faith anyway possible!  We must stay alert!  The enemy is there to kill, steal, and destroy!  This is his only purpose as he seduces us into forsaking a life of faith!  Fear not, but do keep watch!  Be aware of the enemy's tricks!  Stay focused on the Lord, walking in faith over all the devil throws your way!

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world." 1 Peter 5:8-9
