"And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever." 1 Chronicles 17:11-12

As David longs to build the Lord a house to dwell in, God assures Him that it will be He who builds his house.  God tells David that He will raise up One from his descendants to build Him a house.  David son Solomon would build the temple in Jerusalem, but this was not the house God was referring to, nor is it the descendant of David whose throne would be established forever.  God was speaking of Jesus.

Jesus came and established a New Covenant.  And, through this New Covenant a house would be build for God.  Not a house of stone, but a house made up of people from every nation and tongue. The Bible says, "you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house".  A New Covenant has been established that cannot be broken, and through this covenant our Lord's throne has been permanently established.  We are now living, breathing temples of God.  Every believer, from every nation, goes together to make up the house of God.  We are part of God's everlasting Kingdom, and as a house of God we are to declare the Kingdom of God, in power and deed, everywhere we go upon this earth!
