"So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Matthew 21:21-22

Doubt is a child of fear which is the enemy of faith.  Doubt always leaves us with a "what if"....  "What if I pray for someone and nothing happens?".... "What if they laugh at me?".... "What if I'm not good enough?".... "What if I try and I fail" Doubt will flood our minds with the "what ifs".  It will move our eyes from Jesus and put them on us, and when we take our eyes off of Jesus we take our eyes of the One who makes all things possible.  Doubt tries to get us to focus on our own strengths which are mere illusions.  Doubt keeps us from relying on the power of the Holy Spirit that resides within us.  Doubt brings our fears to reality by drawing us away from dependence on the power of God.  If you find yourself always dealing with the "what ifs" of doubt try these "what ifs" out; "What if you pray for a non-believer and they get healed?"...."What if you share the Gospel with someone and they embrace it and are saved?".... "What if the world sees your boldness for Jesus and is infected by it?"  Never doubt the power of God!  Our God is all powerful and He lives in us by the Holy Spirit.  Believe in Him and rely on His power when you pray.  Pray according to God's Word and trust in His ability to bring it to pass and you will see you prayers answered in God's time!

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." James 1:5-8
