"If one man sins against another, God will judge him. But if a man sins against the LORD, who will intercede for him? Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father, because the LORD desired to kill them." 1 Samuel 2:25

Eli had two sons who served in the priesthood. They were evil and exploited to people of God. Eli finally rebuked them but they would not repent from their evil ways. Because they would not listen and turn from their evil ways God desired to kill them. Eli's sons reaped the evil they had sown as God gave them over to the Philistines and they were killed.

God compares disobedience to witchcraft. It is a very serious thing, and not something to be taken lightly. And the truth is that anyone of us could find ourselves in a place of disobedience, but thankfully for us we serve a merciful God! If you find today you are living in disobedience to the Word of God, repent, embracing God's Word; turn to Him and receive His forgiveness. Don't be like Eli's sons who refused to turn from their evil ways, and reaped the evil they had sown! Submit whole-heartily to God! Allow God to cleanse you, making you free and whole!
