"And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15

As Joshua's time on earth grows short he calls the people of Israel together and confronts them about where their devotion lies. Joshua tells them they have a choice, they can choose to serve the demonic gods who seduced some of their ancestors, or they could choose to worship the demonic gods as the people outside of Israel did. Whatever they chose, Joshua assures them that he and his family would choose to serve the Lord.

Today we live in a world that has chosen to follow false gods; demonic gods, gods of their own creation and lusts. There are even many who flood the churches and yet have no true allegiance to the One true God. We like Joshua must make a choice to serve and devote ourselves to God. We cannot afford to base our devotion to God and His Word, by what others are doing! Choose today to live a life devoted to God, to serve Him, and honor Him and His Word at all times! When we consider all God has done for us it's not difficult to live a life of devotion to Him. Since He died for us, it's not unreasonable that we should live for Him!

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1
