"Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!"  

1 Kings 10:8

Most of the time when we think of the word servant pictures of a harsh task master comes to mind, or perhaps images of a servant longing for freedom from their master, but this was not the case with those who served king Solomon. As the queen of Sheba looked upon Solomon's servants she had to feel puzzled. Here were servants who were not miss treated, not down trodden, but full of joy and in good spirits. These servants were happy to hold the position they had and serve their king. Solomon's servants delighted in their king, and reaped the benefits of their king's wisdom and riches.

As we serve the Lord standing before Him day and night we will experience an immeasurable joy that comes from experiencing His wisdom and the love that continually flows from Him. We serve a King who is not harsh or without compassion. We serve a King we can always trust, a King that leads us through the valleys of this life. When the storms of this life come the servants of the Lord are able to stand with joy in their hearts that no man or devil can take away. Stay before the Lord and don't stray or run from Him, for in His presence is fullness of joy!

"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalms 16:11
