Seeking The Father's Will...
"I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me." John 5:30
Jesus was clear that He was not doing His own will but that of the Father. In doing so He set the standard for us. Jesus relied on the power of the Holy Spirit to do the Father's will. Jesus sought out what the Father wanted and not His own desires. As Jesus walked the earth He made a lot of people up-set from, the members of His earthly family to the religious leaders of the time simply because He sought to please the Father by doing Hs will. Jesus didn't win a lot of fan approval, but He did win the Father's approval.
We as born again children of God are to do the will of God. We are to put aside our own desires and follow after God's will for our life. We are to follow God's word, both written and spoken. As we seek to please our heavenly Father we will not win much fan fare here on earth, but we will in Heaven. I encourage you today to rely on the strength of the Holy Spirit to do the will of God in this world. Remember God cares about everything we do, so entrust all your ways unto Him.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33
