At God's Command...

"Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents. At the command of the LORD the children of Israel would journey, and at the command of the LORD they would camp; as long as the cloud stayed above the tabernacle they remained encamped."

Numbers 9:17-18

Throughout the wilderness journey of Israel God was always there to guide the way. The cloud of God's presence rested over the Tabernacle, when it moved the Israelites moved, when the cloud stopped the Israelites stopped. The Israelites allowed God to be their guide, and God was always there to direct them. God knew the best path for them to travel through the wilderness, and would lead them in the best path possible for them.

Today God does not guide His people with a cloud, but by the Holy Spirit that lives within every born again believer. Just as God knew the best path for Israel to take through the wilderness God knows the best path for us to take through this life. And God is always there to lead and guide us. God is looking out for us. He sees a picture we cannot, and He leads us according to His view and His wisdom. Our part is to trust Him, because often the paths He leads us in don't make sense. But, if we will learn to trust Him we will always come out victorious, as we travel through the wilderness of life. Trust God! Allow Him to be your guide even if you don't understand the path He's taking you down!

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake." Psalm 23:1-3
