"The children of Israel brought a freewill offering to the LORD, all the men and women whose hearts were willing to bring material for all kinds of work which the LORD, by the hand of Moses, had commanded to be done." Exodus 35:29

Before the Tabernacle was build an offering was taken up to provide for the building of it. The Tabernacle was to be a place of worship to the Lord. The offering was not mandatory as the giving of a tithe was. This offering was to be given out of love. God had blessed the people. When they left Egypt they left with its gold and silver. Now the people of Israel would give out of what God gave them, and it would be out of love and not necessity.

God loves a cheerful giver! Today God wants us to give freely to the work of His Kingdom. God wants us to give out of a loving heart, a heart that longs to bless the Lord. God blesses us in so many ways and we are to return the blessing to Him. Let us give everything we give out of love, our tithes and our offerings, let them both be given out of love for God. Give freely, out of love, for the furtherance of God's Kingdom knowing that your generosity can in no way surpass His!

"But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
