Turn-Around Repentance...

"So Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and spread out his hands to the LORD; then the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth. And when Pharaoh saw that the rain, the hail, and the thunder had ceased, he sinned yet more; and he hardened his heart, he and his servants." Exodus 9:33-34

When Pharaoh saw the hail mingled with fire falling on the land of Egypt he called for Moses and Aaron. He told them they would be free to go if they would only ask the Lord to stop the hail. Moses did as Pharaoh requested, but as soon as the hail stopped Pharaoh hardened his heart, and refused to do as he said he would. Pharaoh was ready to do the Lord's will while devastation was at hand, but when things calmed down he turned from a willing heart to a hardened one.

It is often only in the hardest of times that people will seek God, desiring to do His will. Hard circumstances have a way of changing the way people see things, but so do good circumstances. It is unfortunate that many will only seek God when tragedy arises, and then quickly forget about Him when He is gracious to us, delivering us from our circumstances. Let us not wait for a tragedy to humbly seek the Lord and His Word. While the blessing and grace of God is evident in our lives let us walk according to the Word of God, seeking to please Him in all we do. If we have repented and been delivered, let us not turn around and do the same thing when we are free from the devastation that sin brings. Let us at all times remain faithful to our God and King!

"Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near." Isaiah 55:6
