"Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water." John 5:2-3

At this pool of water at certain times an angel would come down and stir the waters. After the stirring of the water whoever was first to step into the pool would be healed of all their infirmities. Because of this many sick people would sit around the pool waiting for the angel to come down, all of them hoping that perhaps this would be their day to be healed. They all came with a hope and expectation, but things didn't always workout like they hoped or expected.

The bible tells us of a certain sick man who set by the pool waiting for the water to be stirred when Jesus approached the man and asked him if he wanted to be healed. The man responded how could he when he was unable to walk and there was no one to carry him to the water when it was stirred. The man didn't realize who he was speaking to. He didn't realize that he was speaking to the Healer. Jesus heals the man without him ever having to be put into the water. It's interesting to consider that this man came hoping for a miracle even when he had no way to get into the water. He received his healing that day when he met Jesus. He never gave up hope!

Perhaps today you are in need of a healing. Perhaps you have prayed for years hoping and expecting it to come at any time, and it never has. Perhaps this is your day to receive your healing! Don't give up hope! Continue to call on the Lord expecting something to happen! Who can tell, maybe this is the day of deliverance for you!
