Lingering Pain...

"Then Joseph could not restrain himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried out, 'Make everyone go out from me!' So no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers. And he wept aloud, and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard it. Genesis 45:1-2

Over twenty years had passed sense Joseph's brothers had sold him into slavery. Joseph had experienced many ups and downs in that time; he had been blessed time-and-again by the Lord. He had seen his God-given dreams fulfilled, and yet the pain of the past still lingered with him. The wounds of the past had never been healed, and even though Joseph had been blessed by God, he still had many hurts. Now as his brother's stand before him he can no longer hide his feelings, and as he clears the room he begins to sob so loudly that the Egyptians in the other room can hear him.

There are many hurts and pains from the past that seem to linger with us. Even though time passes by these old wounds continue to cause us problems. There are some hurts we just can't get past on our own, old wounds that no amount of counseling can resolve. For these kinds of hurts Jesus is the only solution! It is only Jesus who is able to wipe away every tear. Only Jesus can bring peace to the storms of life. Jesus is the only answer for these lingering pains. If today you find you have been living with an open wound from the past, turn to Jesus and allow Him to take away your hurt and pain, replacing it with joy and gladness. He desires to do such!

Isa 61:3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."
