Changing Prayer...
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy."But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you" Matthew 5:43-44
Love is the distinguishing earmark of a follower of Christ. It is this love that flows from the Spirit of God living in us that allows us to love and pray not just for those who love us back but also for those who oppose us, our enemies. Jesus instructed His followers to love and pray for those who persecuted them. Praying for our enemies is not easy to do, but God does expect us to do it even though it may not feel good.
As the children of God we do not repay evil for evil, but we overcome it with good. When we lift our enemies up before God, we know that if their hearts are changed and they call on the Lord they will no longer be our enemy but part of our family, the family of God.
As the children of God we are the army of God on this earth, we must take a stand picking others up in prayer and carrying them before the Lord. We must kick the gates of Hell back, and carry the lost before the throne of Christ. Understand your prayers are powerful and have the ability to change the world.
"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
James 5:16
